Accesorizing With A Scarf

Went to the market after dropping off the lad to school at a quarter past 7 this morning. After picking up fresh veggies and fruits and loaf bread, went my way out to the parking area. Then, I saw this Ukay-ukay shop in front of my parked vehicle. With only P70 left on my purse, I brave to browse the shop hoping to find “something” that would interest me.

There was a cute white handbag but I resisted the temptation, er, shall I say, the moolah left will not be enough for the cost. Hence, I threw back the bag and was about to go when I spotted these items near the accordion door…

Three scarves/shawl worth P40. Yes, forty pesos for the lot. I went home with the remaining thirty pesos left in the purse and with a shopping loot to boot…only, UKAY SHOPPING :)

After washing the items with colored bleach and powdered detergent and bathing them off with a dose of Downy…HERE THEY GO…

Nothing fancy, you say…I know, I know…but who could’ve resisted the price?

The pink tasseled cloth (P15)  is a huge rectangular shawl that I almost wanted to make it as a tablecloth ^_^. The black scarf (P15) is made of sheer fabric. Pure sophistication, isn’t it?

The plaid one worth only ten pesos, is a scarf, okay. But its tablecloth-look made me hate to ever used it as a scarf. I do bought it, for, I have tons of ideas on what use could it offer me to diffuse the hatred…(Oh, yes, it’s now laid on the side arm of our couch ^_^).

pink scarf can prettify a boring outfit

Few ways how to use these stuffs as accessories:

  • The simple neck/shoulder accessory. Can be worn hanging loosely, knotted at the neck or tie it just below the cleavage area, and the ends left to dangle.
  • If you’re done using the cloth as scarves…it cab be used as accessories, too. It can be used to accentuate the waist or hips (AKA cloth belt). To do this, simply twist the cloth lightly and knot near the side of the waist/hips. A pretty brooch may be added at the knotted area..
  • Bigger scarf/shawl can be used as a beach cover-up.

Market, is indeed, a place to find fashionable and thrifty accessories.
