Been wanting to color
my hair before the 2015 holidays. Yeah, I have been busy, I just couldn’t find the time. I went to a city salon last week, a new salon actually and quote a price. Staff says around 1600 pesos including highlight and haircut. It’s a new salon, not my “suki” one because I did not like the hair color they did to me in October.
Was thinking of grabbing the 1600 pesos hair color work, the salon looks promising, so many clients at queue. But then, got me changing my mind. What if I wont get satisfied – sayang na naman pera. Sayang ang 1600 pesos.
What I did was – I went to a Hortaleza shop. Ask staff what are their bestseller hair color brands and what color. Well, I told the lady staff what my color preferences are – copper brown, maybe lighter than the regular copper blonde, or maybe gold, deep brown gold, if ever there will be
The lady staff showed me samples. It is really hard to pick, really. What I did was, picked almost the same color as what’s left of the hair color at my hair lengths – got me to pick Light Blonde, but more on the brown hues.
The brand I choose were priced on the mid-level, I mean, not the cheapest, it’s priced at 118 pesos. It came with a free small developing cream but I have to buy a bigger (100ml) bottle at only 35pesos.
I applied the hair color right when I get home. 1 tube of the hair cream plus the 100ml developing cream Volume 20 6%.
Applied it on my dry hair, as it is, leave it at 40 minutes and rinse afterwards. I have to apply hair conditioner too after shampooing.
Was happy with the result. A little bolder color but it blends well with the old hair color applied in October.
The next day, I was freaking excited to add hair highlights. So I DIY again
This was the result after shampooing and applying hair conditioner.
This was the small packet of bleach I bought at Hortaleza.
It’s only 18 pesos. Maybe 2 tablespoons. I add around 60ml of developing cream Volume 20 12% (35pesos) to the bleach and applied it on hair areas I wanted to hairlight. I used aluminum foil to cover the ones I applied bleach on. Yeah, I do watched on youtube how-to
All I can say? Not only did I get huge savings – 118 pesos hair color + 35 pesos oxidizing cream + 18 pesos bleach, + 35 pesos oxidizing cream = please compute for me will yah – never been happier with the result!
